The new site is moving well in Ruby and Rails. I’ve got the blog and wiki working, and working on some styling using the Foundation framework from Zurb. I also have a list of recipe PDFs the builds automatically from the recipes I have uploaded (yes, these are food recipes, not programming ones 😉
I have a lot more I want to do, but I think it is nearly ready for some early testing “very soon now”.
WordPress likes to add a Hello World blog entry for you, to get things started. I don’t really think it’s necessary, as this is really just a placeholder for now anyway. I’m working on the grand master website, and it will be here soon. In the meantime, hang in there. It’ll be worth the wait 😉
Starting on July 20, 2010, I will begin a cross and criss-cross tour of the United States and Canada, blogging, photographing, and eating. I’m the North American Gypsy, and this is my road!
I’ll be concentrating on good writing, good pictures, and reviews of all sorts of things, including food and restaurants, equipment I’m using, books, and places to visit.
One thing to note is that I will probably not put bad reviews in this blog. I like to say good things about as much as I can, so I don’t want to pass on negatives if it isn’t needed — there are plenty of other places where you can find that.
So, what is your favorite place, restaurant, food… send me your ideas, and I’ll see what fits into the travel plans. More of my actual schedule will follow soon, before I leave on July 20th.
